This island has a granite top, owner-supplied corbels (brackets), and ball feet to give the look of a piece of furniture. Cabinets to the ceiling give plenty of extra storage with furrdowns gone. The panel above the oven hides a microwave, and the one to the left hides an appliance garage. |

Doors have maple beadboard panels. Maple crown mold adds interest to the ins and outs of the upper cabinets. The backsplash is tin ceiling tiles from the old days. |

The cooking area. Note the beaded panels on the cabinet side, to continue the look around the corner. The pantry at the far end has the full extension drawers. Yes, that is a furrdown at the top. This one actually has an AC duct in it, so it had to stay. Can't win 'em all. |

The cooktop with tile counter and tin backsplash. Deep drawers for pots and pans under the cooktop are flanked by skinny spaces that house cookie sheets and pans. The tall skinny doors on either side of the cooktop pull out and house narrow spice racks. Note the ball feet. |

The other end of the kitchen mixing the maple with a dark green. Stemware is seen through the glass doors in the upper cabinet that includes rope lights for a nice effect at night. A wine cooler lives in the lower right cabinet. |
